More about the Sale Treasures

Last post I showed you the things from
my friends' sale.  Now lets take a closer look at some of the treasures.

This game is one of my favorite finds.
However, it presents a dilemma.  I have a
collection of the letters and a collection
of the timers.  So, do I take the game apart
and add to the collections, or leave the
game in one piece.  Any suggestions??

These were my next favorite things.  I am
guessing they were some sort of game pieces
or poker chips.  I got them because I already
have a collection.

Yes, another collection with a place to put
them.  I am sad that a while back I sold a
yellow holder just like these.  What was I
thinking??   Well, that was before I had
anything to put in it.

And here I have started to sort through the
many little cards.  I love to sort things.
There are so many fun little pictures on
these many cards, and cards with words, and
cards that teach you Spanish.  I do have a plan
for all of these goodies.  Let's hope I follow
through......

Sale Treasures

Two of my friends cleared out
their studios and had a sale last weekend.
This is what came home with me.

I find it difficult to resist little things
in bags.  Especially when they are
very inexpensive.  These two gals really
wanted to clear out their stuff for cheap!!

Once the bags are opened, the fun begins.
You can see there are all kinds of
ephemera, little plastic boxes, millinery,
fun "little" things.

The ephemera included various cards,
some letters, pictures, and what have
you, as you can see in this photo and
the next one.

The Scribbage game is very cool.  I
collect little plastic boxes and you
can see there are many.  There was
a full little bag of cocktail umbrellas
which still had their Made In Japan labels.

Here you can see some of the millinery.
My next post will show more details.

Christmas Winner!!!

Tis the season, and I was very jolly when
I learned I had won the Christmas Giveaway

It arrived in this great box.  Being a lover of
red, I almost didn't need to open it, I was happy
already!!

When I opened it, it was full of goodness!

Inside was a precious candy cane towel and
recipe book.  A box of chocolates, vintage choir boy and tree, sweet hankie, gift tags, and
two wrapped items.

Dear Deb had made the sweet little ornament
with the choir and that precious Putz house.

And look at the variety of gift tags!!

Thank you, Deb, for this wonderful
cheer at Christmas.  I am a real winner to
have received this giveaway!

I still drag things home.

I have not been blogging because as soon as
my foot was well enough I was helping
a dear friend prepare to move from her home to
one room in a Foster Home.  Every once in a while I had a chance to junk.  I often don't buy anything anymore because I have worked so hard at getting rid of things.  But the odds of never dragging something home are slim and NONE.
So here are a few finds.

This is our sun room and on top of
the shelves in my collection of
violin bottles.

I had stopped adding to this collection, but
when you find them for a few dollars it
is impossible  difficult to resist.

Yes, three more!  I love finding them with the
hanger attached.  I remember my mom having
two green ones on our patio full of ivy.

I cannot resist the wood bottom little tray, baskets.  The white pot will go in my
potting shed. (Sorry about the blur.)   Little
package of fun millinery, a wood egg cup,
and a small blue jar.

This is a twin chenille  spread but it looks
sweet on the queen bed, (over the other one).
Tinker has photo bombed!

Love this red planter.  Perfect for Christmas
décor, or for my house, anytime décor!

And books.  I decided to pick up red and green
books for décor.  One blue one snuck in because it was cheap.  I don't care what they are about, I just go for the color.
So a few new things that came home with me.
It has become kind of fun to be very selective
since I'm not selling anything anymore!

Just a Rainbow of Buttons

I took these pictures a few weeks ago.  I have been out of commission due to foot surgery (nothing serious, just long recovery) and figured I better post something  :>)

I thought they were pretty all put in a row.
They were all washed and sorted.  I picked out my favorites and put them away.  Sorry I did
not make other photos.
